[The Library had always been something of a safe haven to Vie. It was somewhere quiet she could go to think, but with enough material to distract herself with should her thoughts get out of control. Book in hand, Vie walked along one of the isles, eyes on the shelf beside her searching for nothing in particular before finally moving to settle amongst her usual pile of pillows.]
I believe it was an answer someone traded a frog for. The crew has to answer those truthfully--or that's the word around the ship. Otherwise, or if you don't want to believe that, no. But we have no proof they're alive either.
*He sighs and looks away*
I have a hard time believing that Redd would let anyone go that easily.
Even so, I have little faith in the crew. Who is to say the trade is not a lie they've fabricated themselves? Proof or no proof, I choose to think them alive until I see the truth for myself. It's just...
[Easier.]
What of those that leave and come back then? Are they miraculously resurrected? I've been told I was here before, though I don't remember it.
Its just a theory...another possibility. But we have no proof of it either. Maybe you are the same person, just somehow had your memories removed. We know Redd, or something on this ship, can mess with memories.
*The ones he lost while Jenjen are out is still a sore subject*
[She can't think straight. Forgive her Marco while she gently grabs his arm and bumps her head on his shoulder. The fact that she's being this clingy isn't romantic at all, rather that she trusts and likes Marco enough to let her guard down a little and openly show her affection for the man.]
*He assumes this is just part of her mourning--or whatever--process. Marco puts a hand on her shoulder, patting it lightly. He tries, but doesn't entirely manage, to sound reasuring.*
I'll do everything in my power to not vanish without word. *Though he kind of doubts there's much he could do* If I find a way out of here, there's no way I'm going alone.

It's... really, what I want to know is if you have proof other than the word of the crew that passengers die when they leave this ship?
[Her voice is a little firmer than a moment ago. It's a hard question to ask and one she doesn't really know she wants the answer to.]

We can't really know on that either. I'm not really sure.
*Ah...that's right, she was here before...Marco hesitates a bit before answering.*
...I think they might be different people after all...different versions of the same people, that is.

So you think the me that was here before wasn't me at all, and rather another self that... died?
[It makes sense. Vie doesn't like that it makes sense.]
Like a second world then? Another existence of the same person.

I can't focus. Just... don't vanish, alright?
[Vie will let him go in a moment.]

I'll just...
[Word fail.]
You stay safe, alright? And call if you need anything.
[Unless he stops her, she's just gonna pick up her book and walk off.]

*He doesn't stop her. In fact, once she starts off he contiunes on his way to whatever he was doing*
