[The Library had always been something of a safe haven to Vie. It was somewhere quiet she could go to think, but with enough material to distract herself with should her thoughts get out of control. Book in hand, Vie walked along one of the isles, eyes on the shelf beside her searching for nothing in particular before finally moving to settle amongst her usual pile of pillows.]
*Marco had been spending even more time in the library now that Zeke was fixing up Sergei's. If it took too long, he'd probably try to find another bar to work out of, but for now the library was fine. He passes by Vie at first, then turns and heads back over to her.*
[She heard him pass, then stop and return, but doesn't look up until Marco speaks. Eye contact generally leads to conversation, and right now she wasn't sure she wanted that. The sight of Marco was a relief.]
[Oh but she does worry. Vie makes to argue but stops at the mention of Marco having something of hers.]
What is--
[Better to just take it and see for herself. She takes the paper, unfolds it and stares at the page. There are tears in her eyes before she is aware. Vie waits a moment before speaking.]
Some words are off, but he's got the basic story down. And translating it to-- Do you know this language?
[She motions to the Gaulish text on the page. Her hands are shaking a little and while Vie isn't crying anymore, she's obviously very emotional at the moment.]
[Kate commented when she saw someone she hadn't met in the library. The red-head had been pacing about the isles with a book of Shakespear's poetry when she stumbled upon the seemingly new person.]
OH ... sorry ... hi there. Name's Kate.
[She had long stopped introducing herself as Katherine.]
[She smiled when Kate sat down. New friends were always a good thing.]
I come from a place called Naos, more specifically, the Kirovian Empire. My people are Valei. Similar to a human, at a glance, but we're... thinner, and move quite differently.
[Mimmi was also wandering the isles of books. But she actually wasn't looking for any books. It was merely a distraction. You could get lost in this library, and Mimmi found it was good for taking her mind off things. She really needed a distraction; it was hard to sleep lately.
But then she spots Vie! That's someone she hasn't seen in a while]

He passes by Vie at first, then turns and heads back over to her.*
Hey. Are you doing any better?
*His voice is quiet and soft, somewhat worried.*
no subject
Yes. I'm... adjusting, I guess. How are you?
no subject
As well as can be expected, I guess.
no subject
You don't have to take this all on yourself, you know.
[Vie had planned to bitch at him when she saw him, but Marco looks so down that she'll hold off on that for a little.]
no subject
I'm not. Don't worry about me.
Ah...oh. I have something of yours. *He pulls a piece of paper, carefully folded, out of a pocket and holds it out*

Where did you get this?

I just know the english, I'm not really sure what the other two are...but the one sounds like the language you use sometimes.

Ah. Hello. I'm Vie.
[She marked the page of her book with her thumb and turned her full attention to Kate.]
I can't recall seeing you around either. Do you come here often?
no subject
I like this place ... reminds me of home.
no subject
When I first arrived here there was... trouble on the decks. A small girl that killed. I wasn't aware the ship even had a library at that time.
In fact, I'd never actually seen inside one before here.

[Must be ruled by tyrants who don't want their people to know any better ... Kate's imagination took off running.]
no subject
Oh no, we have books. It's just that Libraries are scarce and... my kind aren't allowed anywhere near the ones that do exist.
[She won't argue that her world leaders are tyrants though.]
no subject
[Now she was currious. She took a seat across from Vie, kneeling near her pillows.]

[Humans are so bulky in comparison.]

Hallo, Vie.
no subject
Mimmi! It's been far too long since we last met. How are you?

no subject
It's been a little rough, I will admit. But things are getting better.
no subject
[Instead of dwelling on the subject, Mimmi changes it!]
Are you looking for a certain book?
no subject
I was, actually. Sanya mentioned a story about some midgets who carry some jewelery across their world to destroy it.
[With a smile, Vie motioned to the book she'd been reading a moment earlier.]
My search was interrupted with the discovery of another book.
no subject
[Mimmi peers over to the one Vie is currently holding]
Is that any good?
no subject
It's decent, I guess. The vampires in the stories never quite match up to the ones I've met.
