gotyourwallet: ([ pause ] proud like a god)

[ 2-7 ] [ audio / commentlog ]

[The comm clicks on to a heavy breath. There's a pause before Vie speaks, and when she does her voice is lacking it's usual enthusiasm. Instead Vie's tone is quiet but firm, an attempt at hiding any emotion but failing more than she would like to admit.]

Marco.

[Another pause. This is harder than she thought.]

You have my loyalty. I will aid you in whatever way I can, just as I did him.

[And that's all you get. She's forced calm for long enough for today. Vie shuts off the comm and lets it drop to the ground beside her.

Anyone passing along Deck 12 might notice a young woman sitting against the door of room 1212. She's hugging her knees to her chest and staring blankly ahead. Not wanting to believe that she's lost her closest friend once again, Vie is waiting. Silently she prays to every god she's ever believed in to bring him back, or at very least protect Godric and everyone else that's vanished without a trace where ever they are now.

Vie refuses to think any of those lost to be dead.]

(ooc: She won't be much for conversation right now. Vie's not taking the loss of Godric very well. This is the third time that she's let someone in only to lose them a short time after. She's got a pretty short fuse and is severely lacking patience. If she snaps, it's nothing personal. Vie's a bit of an emotional wreck right now. In time she'll be back to normal. For now? approach at your own risk. :<)

[Knowing 'druga' probably doesn't mean what it sounds like, Lilith nevertheless has no problem being compared to an addictive subtance, so she shrugs and rolls the closest bottle to Miss Mourning.

As for pain, she likes to think there's nobody who could make her hurt where it counts...]

Bad man, no biscuit. What are you trying to say?

And for the record, it's beauty sleep.

[Vie has a tendency to move forward without any real issue and push through whatever trouble comes her way, only to stumble and fall when life throws out the major blow.

She might of handled this better if it wasn't so soon after the last major loss. Vie takes the bottle and admires the label before cracking it open, listening idly to the conversation between Sanya and Lilith. Knowing that she's dragging down the mood, Vie glances to Lilith.]

Looks like we'll have to find someone else to carry us home.

[She smiles a bit, determined to pep up a bit for them.]

[Sanya makes a "tsk" sound.]

Ah, but I'm so fond of biscuits, and beautiful sleep.

[He doesn't bother to elaborate, just cracks open his own bottle, his easy smile sliding automatically back into place. He's... lost people before. Important people. But he knows they'd want him to go on. And it just isn't in his worldview to dwell.]

I'll try hard, but eh, the weight of so much sorrow might be too much for my little arms.

[His smile flickers, but then returns, more genuine, and yet concerned.]

Better to leave it behind, da? Russians invented vodka to lighten the load. Little known fact.

[Lilith brandishes her vodka, suddenly violent and warlike, declaring:]

I'm not sad. Or fat. You can suck it up and if push comes to shove you will lend a hand. Right, Vie?

That's right.

[Having said her piece, she devotes herself to wrestling open the cork.]

[Vie nods, but doesn't reply otherwise. She stops a moment before raising her now opened bottle to toast.]

In that case, here's to lightening the load.

[She'll drink when the other two are ready.]

How can I resist such a polite request?

[He sounds amused by her declaration, though, and reaches over to twist her bottle open for her--if she'll let him.]

Da. To being light. And walking forward.

[He cracks his bottletop, and holds it up.]

[She snorts, deliberating, but allows Sanya to take her hooch under close eye. Lilith will be catching it with an upturned chin once he returns her hard-won liquor. She knows damn well anything they say isn't going to make forgetting come sooner.]

To getting so fuckin' smashed we have to grab carpet.

[Cheers.]

[Right on cue, Vie drinks. The taste hits the back of her throat and the liquor burns in her chest, but it's a good, familiar, almost welcome feeling. Alcohol is about the only way she'll be sleeping tonight. Sure it's a cop out, but she's not about to say no.

Tomorrow, Vie will be better. Not quite back to normal, but definitely on the mend.]

What was it we toasted to last time, Sanya? That first night that you introduced me to vodka.

[He is a perfect gentleman in regards to the booze - he hands it back to Lilith without so much as a drop spilled. Speaking... probably won't do much. But people grieve differently. It might do something. And, after all, Sanya's blade is the Sword of Hope.]

I don't think my memory will tell me. It was so long, and there was so much.

[He takes a drink himself.]

Should make a new toast. To carpet-grabbing? Or... to dealing with hangover?

[Physical pain, at least, is easier to deal with, most of the time.]

Hangovers suck. The buffet should have buttloads of greasy food today and tomorrow? Fried chicken for me, yo.

[Lilith knocks the vodka back, taking the first chug deeper than is safe, but not caring when the end result is going to be the same. She'll let them chitchat and nurse her long bottleneck.]

Blehhhrrr.

[identity profile] gotyourwallet.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
They they do. Perhaps a toast to all of the above?

[Vie drinks again anyway.]

To carpet-grabbing, sitting in hallways, allies that will drink with you no matter what, fried chicken and a speedy recovery.

[She hasn't eaten since she heard Marco's message. The Vodka will hit her quick, but she'll sober decently fast.]

Anymore to add to the list?

I would prefer pizza.

[Or several things from home that probably wouldn't go over too well with the ladies, so Sanya doesn't elaborate on the wonders of world cuisine.]

Da. To all of that. And to the company I am keeping right now.

[He lifts his bottle, eying the both of them with a raised brow, and then takes a drink. His tolerance is stupidly high, given his size and practice, but hey, vodka is vodka.]

[Lilith's head tilts, hitting the wall. A grin works its way to stretch from ear to ear-- has she gone from thoughtful to casual on purpose?

Prolly.]

Scratch the chicken. Pizzaaaaaa.

[She tilts the open container to Sanya, and then Vie.]

To pepperoni with mushroom and olive.

[Vie has nothing to add to that. She just drinks when it's time to do so.]

I still haven't tried pizza.

[The Valei girl is happy to divert conversation far from the actual reason why she, and in turn they, are there in the first place.]

And anchovy. Salty little fish makes for best pizza.

[He says this as if he is imparting some great wisdom to the both of them.]

To anchovy. And to Vie eating them.
