[From the room of one Garrett Hawke bursts a brown haired woman, door flying open as she stumbles to get herself out of the room. Her balance is thrown off, the sudden addition of wings on her back just as much of a surprise as the state of her lover.
Waking up to a big, hairy, dog-like creature draped around her had been something of a surprise. From the room she's just left comes a muffled roar, the sound of a wookie. Back against the wall as much as her wings will allow, Vie opens her journal.]
Tell me I'm not the only one waking up differe--
[The sentence is cut short by another wookie call.]
Hawke, that had better be you.
[Vie's post ends there on account of the hairball is moving toward her.]

[The mention of Thunderbutt reminds her that Carver is still
shitting himselfhiding under the bed. For someone who never liked dogs, she's grown rather fond of the pup. Not that she'll say it out loud.]Where is Carver?
[Vie lets her hand fall from his arm and starts for the door. If only her wings would do as she wants them to. For all she tries to fold them in, one insists on staying slightly open, enough to make doorways an issue.]
Why are these things so big
[Not!Audio]
[That's right, the pup is still hiding. Hawke turns to call for him but it's just another loud roar. All it gets him is an equally loud whine from Carver. It might be a while before the pup decides to come out on his own.]
I don't think he's coming out.
[His attention turns to Vie and her wings.]
If I had to guess, I'd say flying.
[Not!Audio]
[Vie pauses. Somehow the idea hadn't crossed her mind before now. Maybe she could fly. Without really realizing she's doing it, Vie grins.]
I wonder if...
[She makes her way to the bed and crouches down to peer underneath. The smile is still on her face as she tries to call the pup out. A whimper is all she gets, at least at first.]
[Not!Audio]
[Hawke just stays where he is and tries to keep quiet. His attempts have already terrified Carver enough and he doesn't want to put the poor pup through anymore.
She may have wings but Vie still looks and smells like Vie which means she's familiar and safe and not a big hairy monster that wants to eat him. Slowly he crawls towards her. Someone give him a hug ;w;.]
[Not!Audio]
Hey now, what's the matter? Did the big hairy man scare you?
[She loves you Hawke. Really she does.
Vie holds out a hand for the puppy to sniff before scooping him up in her arms. Who would have thought Vie would ever willingly hug a dog.]
[Not!Audio]
[Carver happily lets himself be scooped into Vie's arms and snuggles against her. Yes this is much better than the roaring hairy thing over there.
Hawke still keeps his distance until Carver has calmed down.]
[Not!Audio]
Easy now, Carver. He won't hurt you.
[Not!Audio]
[Not!Audio]
It's alright.
[Vie speaks to the puppy, voice soft and smiles at Hawke. So far, so good.]
[Not!Audio]
Finally Hawke holds his hand out and let's Carver sniff it.]
[Not!Audio]
She can't not laugh.]
Yes. That's... our Hawke.
[Her hold on the puppy loosens, willing to let him get closer to Hawke if he chooses to.]
[Not!Audio]
Hey there little guy.
[This time when he speaks it's no roar, but a softer, gentler noise. At least it doesn't scare Carver.]
[Not!Audio]
I can't see how he was afraid. You and him are more alike than ever.
[She smiles, no malice to her words. Vie's just teasing.]
[Not!Audio]
Carver seems to have recognized as he's quite eager to have Hawke continue petting him.]
[Not!Audio]
Now that the pair of you are friends again, I think I might have to go try these out.
[Not!Audio]
He shakes his head but there's clearly an amused glint in his eyes. If she's doing this then he's coming with her.]
[Not!Audio]
You didn't really think I wasn't going to, did you?
[Wings Hawke! WINGS!!]
[Not!Audio]
Right, I don't know what I was thinking. Guess I'll bring a net to catch you in.
[He's not going to stop her from trying but he's not going to let her do it alone either.]
[Not!Audio]
Such confidence in my ability to do this...
[Not!Audio]
I just like to prepare for the worst.
[Usually because that's what always happens.]
Would you rather I use Varric and Anders to soften your landing?
[Not!Audio]
I think you might be the cushier landing, to be honest.
[Not!Audio]
[Even in this strange new form there's no hiding how smug he is.]
[Not!Audio]
Better than anyone else, I would hope.
[Not!Audio]
[He pauses for a moment.]
And you'd be right.
[Oh he's sure he'll pay for that sometime down the road but just because he loves her doesn't make her immune to his teasing.]
[Not!Audio]
Mmhm.
[She lets him go and moves to stand, stopping only to scratch Carver behind the ears.]
