[ 18 ] [ Video | Commentlog ]

[The video feed kicks in to show a view of the level 3 barracks corridor. Vie walks along, pausing to share both charred brickwork and burnt doors as she goes. It's not every door that's been marked, just a few here and there.]

Have any of you a clue as to just... what is going on here?

[She turns the video to herself, a flaming torch on the wall behind her idly flickering before flaring violently. It's over as quickly as it starts. Vie turns to face it, but finds nothing.]

I'm not sure what to make of any of this.

[As she does he steps a little closer and hooks an arm around her. He's feeling a touch more protective her than usual. In fact he's feeling a lot of things after his death.]

By the Maker, does this thing's evil know no bounds?

Hideous, isn't it? I don't know how it can stand to do such horrific things.

[She leans against him, small smile at her lips. Serious as the situation is, Vie loves joking around with Hawke. It takes the edge of things.]

Its heart must be as black as coal to be capable of this.

[When she smiles so does he. Unlike many, Hawke isn't quite as bothered by this. This is his everyday life in Kirkwall. Right now he's just enjoying being with Vie.]

Pray that the chickens remain unscathed.

[It's been good to have him back. Vie's glad that for all her wanting to cling to him since his return, Hawke's been pretty much the same in regards to her. What went on during Hawke's adventure has scared her somewhat.]

...Maybe it's the moose.

Or that whoever did this had the decency to take them out of their sweaters first.

[More than a few thoughts are running through his head after his death and return, mostly in regards to them. He knows that one day they'll have to part for a time, so until then he won't waste a moment with her. Maybe it's time they make everything official.]

If that beast is setting flame to everything then we're all doomed.

That will be the next discovery. Charred remains of a dozen chickens, their soot covered sweaters neatly folded and set aside.

[As far as she sees it, they've been married for some time. Vie could do without a ceremony even. She's already told him; she's his.]

In this place, I wouldn't be surprised.

Carver might enjoy that actually.

[This he knows, but it's his way of showing her just how much she means to him. He left when he should have stayed simply because that's what he does. Things need to change and he has to remind himself he's not alone anymore.

Plus they haven't gotten a honeymoon yet.]

If that's what it turns out to be I suggest we turn around and head back to our room.
