[ 004 ] [ Audio ]
[The first sound to grace the airwaves was a yawn, moments later followed by a voice.]
I wake to find a storm on the borders, on the approach, it would seem. It might be in our best interests to not wander outside too much. A sandstorm is worse, but a dust storm, assuming that's what this even is, can be near choking.
[She might have lived through a few of those in her lifetime.]
What I want to know is wher--
[The question lingers as to just where the dust is coming from, but as she was about to ask, Vie noticed something... wasn't quite right. She switched to her native tongue, words more alert than those before.]
What in hell is that!?
[End transmission.]

[She ties her own scarf and starts for the door.]
Come on then.

[The scarf might be wrapped around his face but you can practically hear him grinning.]

[Not to be let down, Vie leads the way, wrapping her own scarf around her face as she goes. It doesn't take long to reach the main entrance. Once there, she cracks the door open and peers out. Already the dust has covered the floor on their side of the door.]
Last chance to turn back...

I danced with you didn't I? I can certainly do this.

[She takes his hand in hers, purely for the purpose of them not getting separated in the storm. Really. Her own affections have nothing to do with it. This is pure tactic.]
See you on the other side.
[And off she goes, head down and not letting go of Hawke's hand any time soon.]

[Once they're outside Hawke clutches her hand tightly. He won't lose her, not if he can help it.]

When Vie reaches the next doorway, she can already taste the mud in her mouth from breathing in the dust. Door closed and both of them inside, she pulls the scarf from her face and starts to cough.]
Well, that was... [COUGHCOUGHCOUGH] Fun.

I've got dust in-[COUGH HACK]-places I didn't think it could get.
[He's so focused on trying to be able to breath again that he doesn't realize he's still clutching Vie's hand.]
no subject
You didn't have to come.
[Forgive her voice being a little strained, Vie's throat is a rather dry from the dirty air.]
But thank you all the same.
no subject
[By the Maker he won't be able to get the taste of dust out of his mouth for weeks.]

Your beard looks red.
[She can't not be amused at that. Turning to move and walk away, the fact that she's still holding his hand comes to Vie's attention. Pausing, she looks from the hand to Hawke, unsure how to react or what he thinks of the whole ordeal.]
Ah.

[His beard is going to get a good scrubbing after they get to the infirmary.
And Hawke follows her gaze. Oh right, he's still clinging to her. He releases his grip and grins at her.]
I guess we don't have to worry about getting lost now.
