[With her leg as it is, there's no way Vie would be able to move with a group and not slow things down. She'd still been determined to go, too stubborn to stay behind, and after a heated discussion with Hawke, Vie had agreed to stand down.
Thus she waited in their room, Carver at the door to stand guard under order of Hawke just in case she changed her mind and tried to follow anyway. And she does, to a degree. Unable to sit idle in the room, Vie takes to the hallways of the barracks. It turns out Carver isn't much of a guard dog, but while he does let her out of the room, he refuses to leave her side.
On the stairs between levels two and three, Vie takes out her journal.]
Hawke? Ah... check in, please.
[Capable as she knows he is, Vie is also well aware of his knack for attracting trouble.]
